POLYTETRAFLUOROETHYLENE OR PTFE BEAKERS

POLYTETRAFLUOROETHYLENE OR PTFE BEAKERS

PTFE is a thermoplastic that is solid at room temperature and white in color. It has a density of 2200kg/ m3.
PTFE is an organic compound which is produced by the polymerization of Tetrafluoroethylene under water emulsion so as to avoid any other chain reactions. The significant carbon and fluorine bonds provide a strong chemical linkage as it displays a compact symmetrical structure of atoms which is extremely dense. This provided the PTFE the chemical and thermal stability which makes it one of the most applicable compounds in all the industries.

TYPES OF PTFE BEAKERS

The above given are the three standard sizes of beakers which are manufactures based on the quality and standard norms.

A

Low Form Beaker

B Tall Form Beaker
C Flat or Crystallizer Beaker

The general specifications and types of PTFE beakers are given below. However, on special demands from the clients other non-standard sizes are made.

BEAKERS OF STANDARD SIZES WITHOUT LID
They are the most widely used equipment in most of the chemical laboratories because of their chemical stability and corrosion resistance. These beakers function well under extreme pressure and temperature, which is an essential requirement in the chemical industry.
BEAKERS OF STANDARD SIZES WITH LID
Some chemical substance need to be covered due to their volatile nature in presence of air. For such purpose the lids are created to suit the requirements of the chemical laboratories.
BEAKERS OF STANDARD SIZES WITH A HANDLE
These beakers are made with a handle to facilitate better usage without harming the holder under chemical environment.
  BEAKERS OF NON STANDARD SIZES
These beakers are made on order as per the specifications and sizes required by the client. They are of great demand in the industry due to their safe usage in chemical environment credited due the extremely resistant nature of PTFE compound to most of the other chemical compounds.

APPLICATIONS OF PTFE BEAKERS
Most of the applications of PTFE beakers are related to chemical industry such as:
• They are widely used as Titration flasks.
• They are used to perform crystallization.
• One of the common usages is using it for hot bath of other chemicals.
• They are also used for carrying other chemical reactions as PTFE is an extremely stable compound that does not react with other chemicals which are being used for the reactions.
STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS OF PTFE BEAKERS

VOLUME The average volume of the PTFE standardized beakers is ranging from 5ml to 10,000ml.
DIAMETER The diameter range could vary depending on the type if the beaker. However, the standard or the most commonly used beakers have a diameter ranging from 20mm to 230mm (on outside).
